11/13/2023 - Week 36 - Thanksgiving Potluck

Hey everyone, I'm gonna try and keep this brief lol.

Last Monday for p-day we were in Huntsville with a bunch of other missionaries which was fun, I got to see Sister Hyde and Sister Gerratt because they're still close in northern Alabama, it's pretty fun.

The next day was Zone Conference and it was really good!!!!! I love the Chibotas and Zone Conference and everything about it. It was a lot of good stuff and new stuff to work on yeesh. That night we had dinner with the woods, except we cooked for them. We made crepes and they had never really made them at home before, but they loved them!

One day we talked to this lady who we hadn't been able to get ahold of in awhile and taught her the whole restoration, later she texted us and said she's not actually interested in learning more, she just didn't want to tell us that lol.

The other day Sister Moralez was making us tacos, and she needed tongs, but we didn't have any, so we went to our next door neighbors and asked for some. They were really weirded out by us, but gave us the tongs anyway, haha. I think they thought we were trying to convert them.  during all that we were also talking to our friend Torie on the phone and she is super cool, but she doesn't live in our area, rip.

On Saturday we had a member out with us and she told us that we needed to get better friends to teach lol... idk how to take that. that night we were cooking up a storm, we had to cook a couple things for the branch potluck the next day which was a lot of fun! There was so much yummy food at the potluck and we got STUFFED. We were both so tired and afterwards we sat in the car and talked to our friend carol, who is a talker and tbh we both dozed off a little during this call. that night we went to go visit our friend Carlos and after we knocked on his door we realized that there was a note saying that Carlos is banned from that apartment complex and doesn't live there... oops

Anyway I guess this wasn't that brief but here's a quick spiritual thought:

At Zone Conference Sister Chibota told us about the importance of obedience. She said "you may think that being obedient are chains that are bringing me down, but the truth is that obedience is armor" and I thought it was really cool to think of it that way. So go be obedient!

i love y'all, I hope you have a great week!
