Thanks to hurricane Helene's arrival, Sister Hansen got to come home a few days early! We we're not the least bit upset about that! Because it was such a rush to get the missionaries out of there before Helene hit landfall, she arrived home at 11:00 PM! We still had a big crowd there to welcome her home! It was so wonderful to see her again and get our hugs from her! Even the little girls were there to give her big hugs! We are so happy to have our Kaylee home again! Well done thou good and faithful servant! Mission Accomplished!

9/23/2024 - Week 81 - Alabama Birmingham + Florida Tallahassee Missions
Hello everybody,
We have made it to the end. Today is my last p-day as a missionary and I wish I could put into words how much my mission has meant to me. It has changed me.
D&C 18:14-15
Wherefore you are called to cry repentance unto this people. And if it so be that you should labor all your days in crying repentance unto this people and bring save it be one soul unto me, how great shall be your joy with him in the kingdom of my Father!
My soul truly has been brought unto Him, I know my Savior lives. I know God loves all of his children, including you and me. He knows your heart, mind, your desires, your likes and dislikes, your struggles and heartaches, your joys and successes. He wants you to turn to him. So turn to Him! I promise His way is better.
I am so grateful for all of the love and support y'all have given me these last 18 months. I'm grateful for the opportunity I had to serve and Im excited for the next things my life will bring.
If you are ever struggling to feel God's love for you, feel free to reach out to me (and to Him, lol) even though I won't be a missionary anymore, I am still here for you.
For anyone interested here are some mini highlights from my last week:
- so many sad goodbyes
- members who own planes!
- we found a miracle friend, Cheryl! God put her in our path
- we visited a sister in our ward who broke down crying while we were there and told us she had been praying that the sisters would come and visit her so she could have the Spirit in her home 💟
- we had dinner with this family + half the ward last night as a celebration for some Korean holiday, it was AWESOME
Missions are so amazing, they are hard, but they are life changing in every way. I wouldn't change mine for anything. I have met some of my best friends here and seen so many miracles.
For my last spiritual thought I will just leave you with my testimony that God is real. Jesus Christ lives, he suffered and died so we all can live again, too. And so we can be saved from our own mistakes and trials. I love him and he loves you so much. I promise that doing the little things makes a difference in life. I know The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is true and that it contains the fulness of Christ's gospel on the earth today and it is the best place to be!
I love you all, see you soon! 😉

9/16/2024 - Week 80 - The Tallahassee Temple!
Y'all... I got to go to the Tallahassee Temple on Saturday and it was SO AMAZING!
Okay, okay I will get to the temple, but let me start with the week:
-On Monday we had a lesson with our friend Megan who is so amazinggggggg. She is so awesome she has the best questions. I'm so excited for her.
- We got to go to Activity Days for the girls and they had us teach them the Plan of Salvation- it as so fun!
- We got to go to Cracker Barrel with some members of our ward, love them.
- We drove down to Tallahassee for our little trip, we got to stay the night with Sister Dahlin and Sister Taylor who are some of my bonus daughters in the mission, I LOVE THEM SO DANG MUCH!
- Much tea was spilled at said sleepover and much catching up happened.
- The next day we pulled up to the mission home for breakfast and a mini devotional for all the departing missionaries before we WALKED to the temple because it is that close. I am in love with the temple, it is GORGEOUS! WE got a private, very in depth, tour of the temple and I can testify that everything in that temple was done intentionally. I could go on and on. We also got to have our final interview with President Trusty.
- Yesterday we had dinner with a couple in our ward and they showed us a snake they caught.
Spiritual thought:
I LOVE TO SEE THE TEMPLE! That building has not been dedicated yet, but the Spirit is there. I LOVE IT. I have been on such a spiritual high ever since getting to go there. It truly is a holy place. The temple is something I definitely took for granted growing up, I didn't realize that living within 15 minutes of the temple was such a blessing. The closest working temple right now is 4.5 hours away in Birmingham, but it's closed, so then we have 5 hours to Atlanta, and now we are looking forward to just 2.5 hours for Tallahassee! There is so much peace inside the temple and I can testify that the Spirit is there. God is in the details of it so that we can be closer to him. SO, if you get the opportunity to go, please go!
that's all, I love y'all

9/9/2024 - Week 79 - Call me Hermana Hansen
Y'all... What a week!!!
Feels like so much happened let me give you the highlights:
-my LAST Zone Conference! So, so good. All the missionaries going home sang a little song- "God be with you till we meet again", very sad. The 2nd verse was in Español so I'm basically fluent.
- On Thursday, Sister Houston hit 7 months as a missionary and on Friday I hit 18 months as a missionary, so we made a cake of course!
- We went out to the boonies of our area on the rainiest day of the year, we were DRENCHED. But we got to go up to Alabama!!
- We have been teaching this lady named Q. Her son is named LJ. And this week we met her husband. Guess what his name is? G. What a fam!
- On Saturday we had this event where the Tabernacle Choir was doing a live broadcast to our area, and they had a singer from Encanto so the lady in charge of this event in our stake decided to make it Encanto themed. We had Mirabel, and all the sister missionaries dressed in these like Latina fits? Idk man, it was so weird. But my favorite quote from the night was, "why are they dressed like Mexicans?" It was hilarious!
- And today for p-day we learned self defense and went to the beach.
Spiritual thought:
Ether 12:27
I have always seen this verse and been like "oh yes, Ether 12:27 classic." But this week when I was reading it I was like WAIT this is goood. Like God really does make weak things become strong. We are made to have weaknesses and we don't have to beat ourselves up for having weaknesses because it actually helps us come closer to God. God's plan is too good!
Love y'all so much,
❤️Sister Hansen
9/2/2024 - Week 78 - Unacceptably large spiders
Hellloooo everybody!
This was a great week, so many things happened here are the highlights:
-We did service for this less active member out on their farm, and let me tell you that lifestyle is not for me. Got eaten alive by mosquitos and I saw the biggest spider I've ever seen in my entire life. It was unacceptable.
- We got Frostys after said service
- Later saw another huge spider.
- We had a two hour long meeting with our Ward Mission Leader... We got a lot done, but it was a long meeting, lol.
- On Friday we went had our weekly planning session and so we sat out by the pool and tanned... I got burnt (Hansen's don't tan... shoutout to my dad for the complexion, also shoutout to Sister Huish for leaving the bougie tanning oil!)
- We had a dinner with this less active family and when we got there they're like "dinners ready!" we proceeded to sit there for FORTY MINUTES before they were like "well let's go eat" anyway we were there for almost 2 hours and we were late to our next appointment, lol.
- We decided to have fun and have a movie night. We got home at 9, put on our jammies, made popcorn, and put on Meet the Mormon's, classic!
Let me leave you with one story from my week:
There was one day this week that was so long. Like it felt like it would never end. Nothing was going right and it was hot. But at the end of the day we had a lesson with our new friend Megan. And this was probably the best Restoration lesson I've had my whole mission. Megan was there with her son and they were just loving it! They were already talking about baptism! Megan is so so, so elect and I am so excited for her and her family! It was just such a miracle and it was the miracle that we needed, especially that day.
Spiritual thought:
We've been asked to read Moroni 7 to prepare for Zone Conference which is all about having faith, hope, and charity. I just know that having charity for others makes life so much better and that striving to see others as Christ sees them will not only bring joy to us but to those around us. Let's all love like Jesus!
That's it. I love y'all. Have a good one,
❤️Sister Hansen
