Hello, hello my friends,
Happy Thanksgiving! It's crazy that it's already Thanksgiving week! Let's see if I can come up with some highlights from the week...
Last Tuesday some members of our branch signed up to feed us, but weren't able to because they were sick so they bought us sonic instead. They left the food and shakes out on the front porch and when we picked it up there was a fat spider chilling in one of the shakes. :D I spooned the spider out of the cup and threw it on the ground. I should've taken a picture, lol.
On Wednesday Sister Wood took us out to go see Jamie at her house (which is 30 minutes away from us) and she has like 7 big dogs at her place and one of the German shepherds just had puppies! We aren't allowed to pet or hold animals so we couldn't pet the puppies but we took a pic with one. She also has some pigs... they stink. After Jamies, we all came back to Scottsboro and went to lunch together at a place called Buena Vista. We had a fun time together, we love Jamie. <3 Later that day we were trying to find people to teach at Walmart and we went up to this guy who had a van that said Jesus on the back and he said that he had been doing the same thing that we are doing. We were like oh cool, then bro started to bash us. It wasn't bad, but he was like "hey, I'm just trying to help you see the light, because forever is a long time." And I was like yeah it is a long time my friend. Also we visited our friend Brad and he gave us a jar of candy and a bottle of milk... thanks Brad!
The next day we were in a lovely, tiny little town called Hollywood Alabama. Yep, Hollywood is in my area. Anyway we were out there and decided to talk to this random lady outside her house- turns out it was a lady who showed up to our branches halloween party a few weeks back! So we gave her a book of mormon and set up a time to come back, what a miracle! Also while we were in Hollywood it was getting dark, but we wanted to try to visit a random guy who had been taught by missionaries in the past, so we roll up and its the sketchiest little backroad ever, there was literally a cemetery there and this awful trashed trailer... we made the executive decision to not visit him. Then we had dinner with mama Reyes at a yummy Cchinese buffet... I love food.
On Friday we had an awesome lesson with this guy named Mateo who requested to meet with us like forever ago, but we haven't been able to set up a time to visit in the longest time. So we taught him the restoration and it was awesome! He's gonna read the book of mormon!
Saturday we visited Carol who is a less active member and she had the most iconic outfit ever. Picture this- Green shamrock shirt, shorty shorts, knee high blue socks, and crocs. I should've taken a picture.
Anyway I forgot to mention last week that we had our branches primary program and it melted my little heart. They did a wonderful job- especially for only having 4 primary kids. The youth were involved which was awesome.
Spiritual thought:
I'm gonna keep it simple today, you are a child of God. It's true! You! God knows and loves you and he literally has a specialized plan and purpose just for you! You weren't made by accident, you aren't randomly placed in a place or time for no reason, there is a loving God who is the father of your spirit and knows you better than you know yourself. So keep your chin up and keep moving forward, when life is hard lean on that God who loves you
