11/27/2023 - Week 38 - THANKSGIVING!

Hello my friends,

Last week on P-day we went to Unclaimed Baggage (basically a tourist trap where they sell all the baggage from the airports that was never claimed) it's always fun to look around there.

On Tuesday we went on exchanges and I went to Huntsville with Ssister Casady and we had a good time! She's going home at the end of this transfer so we talked about what life will be like for her when she goes home- crazy! We also talked to a guy for like 45 minutes and at the end he was like yeah so I'm basically not interested... heartbreaking.

On Wednesday night I made an apple pie because I promised I would bring it for Thanksgiving and I was working on that thing for way too long. I had to sit at room temp for like 3 hours but I didn't want to leave it out on the counter all night so I woke up at 3 am to put it in the fridge. 😅

The next day of course was Thanksgiving! We visited some people in the morning and then we went to have dinner with the Woods! It was amazing! All the Thanksgiving food you could ask for, and corn casserole (a southern favorite). I just love the woods so much and I appreciate all that they do for us missionaries. We also got to talk to our families and it was so good, i love them. That night we started our journey down to Birmingham Alabama because we needed to be in Prattville on Friday. We made it to Birmingham and stayed the night with Sister Birchall and Sister Knight! (Sister Birchall was my STL and Sister Knight was my companion back in the day) we had a good time!

The next morning we finished our drive to Prattville which was about an hour and we went to a meeting called follow up trainers which is basically a meeting for the new missionaries and their trainers and it was good! We learned how to be better trainers and companions. Also Sister Moralez can drive now so she drove us home!

The next day Sister Moralez made tacos for the woods and it was a lot of fun! Her tacos are Woods approved! We also had a great lesson with Dantes and Magi- basically Dantes was baptized about a year ago and Magi is his brother who is not baptized but he wants to get baptized and we finally got to meet with them! Lets get Magi baptized!

This year our branch is doing a Christmas choir so we went to choir practice and it was fun! We also had another fun lunch with the Olenslagers after church so that was fun. I love this branch!

Spiritual thought:
Missionary work is pretty cool! The opportunity to get to help people come closer to Jesus Christ is so special and I'm so grateful for it. If y'all have the opportunity to go out with the missionaries or participate in missionary work in any way you should! Uts awesome! And there are serious blessings that come from it.

Love y'all, have a great week!

❤️ Sister Hansen
