12/18/2023 - Week 41 - On the road again

Hello my friends! It's been a wild week, lots of travel and meetings and crazy adventures!

Last Monday night we went to the high schools band concert to support one of the youth in our branch and it was so much fun!

On Tuesday we had MLC which is just a big meeting for all the leadership in the mission because Sister Springer is an STL! we woke up super early to meet up with some other sisters in Huntsville to drive down to Prattville which is a 3 hour drive. We had a good time on the drive though! And MLC was amazing, they taught us so many good things and its always good to see President and Sister Chibota! That night we went back to Huntsville and stayed the night with the sisters in our district.

On Thursday we had a crazy lesson with this guy named Thomo who says he knew Bob Marley and they were pretty good friends! He basically told us his whole life story about how he's studied every religion, but he's very interested to learn more about our church. And he lives on the same road as our church so that's awesome! Then we had lunch with Sister Wood at a Mexican restaurant and it was YOMMY- it was also so good to see her again, it had felt like forever. That night we had our Relief Society Christmas party and we all wore our pajamas it was so fun! We played some fun games too, I love this branch.

On Saturday Sister Wood invited us over to paint some Books of Mormon for the primary kids for next year! We had a blast, we made cute little paintings of Jesus on the covers of the Book of Mormon.

Yesterday Brother and Sister Olsen took us out to go visit people for like 4 hours- it was incredible! Brother Olsen was honestly falling asleep during one of the lessons and them afterwards he was still like "okay who are we seeing next?" The Olsens are so awesome. That night we had to hop over to Huntvsille for a meeting with some of our stake leaders and the mission leadership in our zone and after the meeting we got to sit in on a mission prep/preach my gospel class! It was so cool and they asked us what questions people ask us in the real world. It turned out to be really funny.

I'm sure there are so many details I'm missing from this week, but those are the highlights that I can remember, and I am so grateful for all of you who read these, you're awesome. Sorry I'm sending this out so late it's been a crazy day.

Spiritual thought:
Well as we all know next week is Christmas! That means we are celebrating the birth of our Savior! Being a missionary and having the opportunity to testify of Jesus Christ has made me so much more grateful for our Savior and the sacrifice that He made for us. It is such an honor to be a representative of Him especially at this time of the year and I hope that we all just remember the reason for the season! I would invite y'all to take time this week to read the account of the Savior's birth in Luke 2! And don't forget to light the world!

I love y'all

Merry Christmas

❤️ Sister Hansen
