Hello, hello my friends! This was a wild week.
Last Monday we had our district p-day so we were in Huntsville with everyone and we stayed the night, and the members that were feeding the sisters that we stayed with offered to feed us too! So kind of them! So we chatted with them and it turns out that Brother Roberts served his mission in Boise, Idaho and he served in Meridian at one point! So we talked about all the places and things and he's throwing out street names like Overland, Locust Grove, Fairview, etc. All names I haven't heard IN MONTHS! It was so crazy and so much fun!
Brother Roberts also told us about someone he had met on his way into Scottsboro at a tiny lil antique store who had met missionaries in the past, so on our way back into Scottsboro on Tuesday we stopped by to try and hunt him down. We pulled up and no one was there, then a lil white truck pulled up and out walks Chip. So we talked with him for a bit and it was the guy Bro Roberts told us about! He actually wasn't super interested, but it was fun talking with him, then when we left, he locked the place up and left. We're not sure why he decided to come right then, but we know it was God's timing for sure!
That same day we had like ten minutes so we decided to go knock some doors and found the coolest people ever! Laura and Derek! They were so excited about the BoM! And they live very close to the church building, it was such a miracle that we found them. Just from what we heard from them, it sounded like the planets aligned for us to meet them!
We also met a super sweet lady named Kathy, she was really going through it and it was a miracle that we found her!
On Friday a nearby senior couple, the Martineau's came by for a "shepherding visit" (basically apartment inspection and to make sure we're ok) and that was so much fun! They are amazing, they're basically like my mission grandparents. I came to the mission the same time as them and we actually met in the MTC. Love them. That night we got a call from President Chibota which is always so scary, but he actually had some wonderful news for us! Jamie got approved to be baptized! We have been waiting for approval for that for the last 6 months and it finally happened! She is going to be baptized on March 16th! Please pray for Jamie and that she can make it to that date!
Yesterday at church a random guy named Ricky showed up to church. He said that we met him at Walmart and invited him to church, but I genuinely don't remember that at all. But it was cool that he came!
WOW, see I told you it was a wild week. Anyway I applaud you if you made it this far. thanks for all the love and support y'all give me. And Happy Birthday to my Grandpa Hansen!
Spiritual thought:
I just think it's so cool how God can be in the details of all of our lives. And how he gives us the miracles that we need in that moment. there are times when we find someone and it's a miracle at that time, then in the next couple of days they fall of the face of the earth and disappear, but it's what we needed in the moment. That's why it's important to recognize those miracles when they come, because they do! And God knows what's best for us. So go look for those miracles!
Love y'all
Transfers are this week, wish me luck!
