3/27/2023 - Week Three - Alabama Bound!...?

Hello hello everybody!

Last week I told you how the week seemed to last 100 years? Well this week seemed to last for about a day and a half? Here I thought I just arrived here at the MTC and they're already kicking me out the front door. It's actually insane though, on Wednesday we were hosting the new missionaries which means we became the people who welcomed us on our first day. I felt like an imposter because last I checked I just got here. But, I really enjoyed Welcoming the new missionaries, it was really special.

It's been a bit chilly here in Provo, and despite it being officially spring we have snow everywhere. It's really beautiful, but very cold, and I'm grateful to be headed to the warmth of Alabama!

Sister Goff and I met a senior couple who will be serving in our mission! Shoutout to the Martineaus!

We had to face the sad reality this week that it was time to say goodbye to our teachers. Both of our teachers taught incredible lessons and I am so grateful for them! We took some pictures on our last day together!

As a district we took the famous picture in front of the map! We all tried to point to our missions, but they are a bit close together when we're all serving in the United States.

On Tuesday we had our first and only devotional at the MTC and Elder Alonso of the Seventy and his wife came to speak to us. He shared an incredible message about extending invitations to those we teach. But my favorite part of the devotional was that we got to sing in the choir! We sang "Hark All Ye Nations" and when all of us missionaries sang "Chosen by God to serve Him below, to every land and people we'll go" the spirit was so strong and powerful. It hit me hard that we really are missionaries for the Lord and we are going to every land and people. Similarly, last night we had a devotional where all of us missionaries sang "We'll Bring the World His Truth" and on the screen with the lyrics they changed the lyrics to say "And we are now the Lord's missionaries to bring the world his truth" that once again hit me so hard! I can't believe that this is real!

Spiritual thought:
General conference is coming up and I can't wait to hear what our prophets and apostles have to teach us! I hope that all of you will go into it with a question and seek for personal revelation! And on an unrelated note, the power of prayer is real! Don't ever forget that you can talk to our father in heaven whenever you need to night or day!

I love you all, have a great week! Tomorrow I am leaving for Alabama in the early early morning so the next time you hear from me will be from across the country!

❤ Sister Hansen
