Happy Mother's Day everyone! I hope all you mothers had a wonderful day yesterday. And everyone else too!
Last P-day was Tuesday and after our P-day hours were over we had a Relief Society activity that we got to go to with the ward and it was so fun! The ward is so welcoming and kind to us and it was nice to get to know some of the ladies a little better!
One of our friends who was on date to be baptized is kinda going through it and we went to see her and it's really sad because she just seems to have regressed a lot. She was doing really well and trying to keep commitments, but then some people (friends/family/kids?) moved in with her and she has not been the same since. But we know that God has a plan for her!
We had a media referral (someone who fills out a form online to meet with us) who called us this week and we talked for like 15 minutes about meeting at this park. He told us he had to drive an hour and a half to get there and I thought that was weird. But we went to this park that had two covered pavilions and we went to the one with some other people around and texted him and told him where we were. Then he starts asking us if we can meet him at a creek to baptize him, we said we would talk about it when he got there. Then he texted us and was like "can we meet at the other pavilion" we couldn't see him, but we knew he could see us and we told him we weren't going to go to that one because we didn't want to be alone. Anyway we waited for this dude for like over an hour and eventually left when the other people left because we weren't fixin to get killed. He kept calling and texting us that day but we gave him the elder's phone number and blocked him. Haven't heard from him since.
After we left it started POURING rain, and I was driving. I'm telling you that in that half hour of downpour we probably got more rainfall than Idaho will have all year haha.
On Thursday one of our ward members fed us dinner and she made a cafe rio sweet pork salad at home! It was so fun because we don't have cafe rio out here, and it was really good!
On Friday I got attacked by a dog a little bit. He jumped up on me and ripped my dress a little, but I didn't get bitten or anything! He really didn't want to leave me alone, I guess I looked like a snack or a friend or something.
Yesterday on Mother's day our friend KJ came to church! After the 2nd hour they did a lunch for the moms and one of the brothers in the ward was playing a guitar and singing! Live music! It was fun to celebrate all the Moms and talk to them. Yesterday it was pretty warm outside and I was sweating. Sister Hyde goes "I'm feeling good about this, it's may and it's this hot, but I'm not dying" and I go "I'm dying" it's gonna get hotter??? But at least I'm working on my tan, y'all won't recognize me when I get home.
Last night I got to call my momma and talk to her which was my favorite thing ever! I just love her so much, she's my best friend! And my family was over at my Grandma's house so I got to see some more of the fam! Shoutout to the Shields side of the family! (Hansen side I love you too <3)
Spiritual thought:
One thing I have really come to understand on my mission is that God truly has a plan for each and every one of us. And it blows my mind that He can be in the details of each of our lives. God works miracles every day and it's so incredible how things always line up. So this week, pay attention to the little things, I know that God knows each of you individually and that He has amazing things waiting in your futures!
Love ya!

Ps. The snake is dead, one of our friends lit it on fire. Unfortunately we weren't there to see that.
