Hey friends! Happy Memorial Day! I actually forgot that that was a holiday but it's great! This has been a really good week, it feels like so much happened.
Here are some highlights from my week...
- Two times this week we saw the biggest roaches I've ever seen inside of our house. We named them Rhonda and Ronnie. We trapped one in a Tupperware and it scurried around in there and it was disgusting, but we successfully killed both of them. We also had a giant spider in our house and I killed it with my shoe. So needless to say we have Florida bugs.
- The Elders stole all of our silverware except for one fork... and when they returned it it was frozen in ice. Perfect...
- We had two great lessons with Jasmine this week! She's super awesome and she is planning on getting baptized this transfer!
- We had our last district council of the transfer, which is crazy, it flew by so fast! Afterwards we had the call where we find out where everyone is going next transfer and Sister Huish and I are both staying in Crestview! We love it here so much and we're so excited for another transfer here! Also one of the Elders that I served around a few transfers ago is now covering my same ward! So fun.
- We helped a lady move and she had a whole lotta bugs in her place so we went home and took the hottest showers known to mankind in an attempt to kill all the bugs. So far I think we are bug free!
- We visited with this sweet sister in our ward, Glenda. She can't really remember anything but she is so sweet and so dang funny! We had a great visit with her. We also visited another lady in our ward who had asked Sister Huish to paint her nails for her, so she did! Also hit the craziest traffic ever on the way there.
- we met a guy in the park named Ronnie who said he had been praying for God to send angels to him and he knows that God sent us to him! I love being in the right place at the right time
- Sister Huish pulled a grey hair out of my head
- a sweet senior couple came to inspect our apartment and we passed!
- An 8 year old in our ward got baptized on Saturday! He wanted the missionaries to be there to support him and it was so much fun! Baptism is pretty cool, tbh.
- on Saturday we got a call from President Chibota and he asked if he could come by for interviews! We didn't know he was gonna be in Florida, but The Chibotas came to our house and we had a great visit with them! We love them so much!
That's it y'all.I love it here, being a missionary is great, I love this work!
Spiritual thought:
I've been trying to study the New Testament more often and recently I read about the miracle where Jesus fed the 5000 and the 4000 and it just was a great reminder to me that the Lord can do all things, truly. He can make anything possible and through Him we can see many miracles. But we also have to have the faith to receive them. I know that there are miracles to be had so go out there and get them. And even if you don't think there are miracles, there are. Sometimes we just don't recognize them, but I know they're real.
Anyway, I love y'all and I hope you have an amazing week!
❤️Sister Hansen
