8/3/2023 - Week 21 - Megaweeeeek!

Good morning, it's been awhile my friends

This week was Megaweek! We've been going from last Monday, to this Thursday, and really it has not been that bad, we lived it up! But with it being megaweek that also means we got transfer news last night! Sister Knight and I are BOTH leaving Decatur! Which means, it's getting whitewashed. They are putting Spanish speaking sisters here, which is much needed, there are so many people who live in Decatur who speak Spanish and need the gospel! Sister Knight is going to be in a cute place called Hazel Green and I'm going over to Scottsboro! Sis Knight will be my STL in my zone over there which is hype! And Sister Goff is going to be in my district there! A lot of confusing stuff, but I'm excited about it!

So updates from the week-
We visited Don Monday evening and he feels like he doesn't have a strong enough testimony to be baptized yet, so we are giving him time to study and gain a sure testimony, but I know he will be baptized one day!

Sister Knight and I gave a fire training at district council about using the book of mormon in teaching, it was super sweet. We also started doing service at this place called the CCC and missionaries have served there before but it's been awhile and they were excited for us to be back.

We started teaching a cool lady named Aaliyah who has three cute kids and she's coming to church! Some ward members to us to dinner at this place way at the edge of our area called the old cookstove which is buffet style all homemade food and it was YUMMMMMMM I love southern food so much.

On Sunday, Don surprised us by coming to church we were so excited for him to be there! We had another surprise visitor, Jonathan who we have talked to a couple times previously. We stopped teaching him because he invited Sister Knight to join him on a cross country adventure to spread the gospel. She kindly declined haha. But he came and asked some of our ward members for money so that was interesting!

Yesterday we served at the CCC again and organized some books, I felt like a librarian or something. We visited some cool people with our recent convert, Tim and then we had dinner with Don! He's so cool. We headed over to the church to watch the transfer call and President Chibota was like buckle up because things are changing. There are a lot of trios and they closed a couple areas, crazyyyyyy stuff.

But it was a good, long week!

Spiritual thought:
let me be honest, in missionary work there are a lot of things that I don't want to do, but I know that I have to do them. This week I was trying to be more diligent and do those things that I don't like doing, and I wasn't perfect, but I saw progress. I know that when we turn to our heavenly father and ask for help in doing those hard but necessary things that he will give us the strength we need to accomplish them!

I love you all, have a great week, talk to you Monday
