Hi everyone! Happy P-day!
Last Tuesday we drove ourselves to Huntsville for District Council and Elder Wahlstrom was still up in Huntsville so he was there. Afterwards we went to Cheeseburger Bobbies again. 🤑 🍔 Elder Wahlstrom said his experience was better than the last time he was there (if you remember the whole pepper incident). After DC we did a little blitzchange thing with the YSA Sisters. Basically we switched companions and just did work in their area for the afternoon. I went with Sister Sawyer and Sister Hyde! So much fun! We met one guy who sent in a request online to meet with missionaries and so I tried to give him a Book of Mormon and he wouldn't take it! He was like "nah I'm good" okay dude. We also had dinner with a family in their ward and the dad of this family was telling us all about a bunch of last days stuff and how the scriptures and words of general authorities are predicting when the 2nd coming is going to happen... dang.
On Wednesday we went to the other district council and then Sister Gerratt did exchange reviews with the sisters. By the time that was over and we got back to Scottsboro the day was basically over, but we still had time for a lesson with our friend Nancy!
On Friday morning I finally got to meet one of our friends Cheryl! In the whole time Ive been in Scottsboro I haven't been able to meet her yet. She has a lot of health issues so shes had to cancel set lessons so many times but this time it worked out! And let me tell you... cheryl knows how to talk. We had a good visit though. Later that day the Mayfields came and joined us for some lessons and took us all over our giant area. It was a good time. Then they took us out to eat, yum.
On Saturday we were informed that there would be an eclipse and we were specifically told not to look at the sun... under any circumstances.... so.... I looked at the sun. We weren't in the path of totality and when we were out there it just was covered a little bit. We couldn't even tell when we looked at the sun, just in reflections. Also- I only looked at the sun with three pairs of sunglasses on so I was being safe. The adult session of Huntsvilles stake conference was that night and we watched from the Scottsboro building. It was all really good, until the audio cut out at the end. I'll never know how that story ended.
On Sunday Jamie drove us out to the Stake center for stake conference! While we were there she got to meet President and Sister Chibota and we got to see a bunch of other missionaries and take pictures! It was a really good stake conference. For dinner we ate with the woods and afterward we played "what do you meme?" Where you add a caption to a funny picture. I almost won, but granny beat me.
Today we are having a district p-day, so we are in Huntsville! But its a bit sad because right now I am actually in the hospital. :( I'm here visiting Sister Hyde who has appendicitis and has to have her appendix removed later today! So please keep her in your prayers!
Spiritual thought:
At Stake conference Elder Alan C. Gauldin of the seventy spoke about some Christlike attributes that we should strive to have. Gratitude, patience, honesty, kindness, willing to heed good counsel. I know that focusing on these things will help us become more like Christ and also bring us more joy in our lives! So y'all should do those things!!!
Have a great week, love you!
❤️ Sister Hansen
