10/30/2023 - Week 34 - Sister Moralez vs. Sister Hansen

Hello, hello everybody,

I am tired. But life is good. On Wednesday Sister Wood and her daughter, Josey came out with us for lessons. We had a set lesson at 1 and when we got there our friend, Brad was outside with this lady who's car was dead and they were trying to jump it and it wasn't working. Then Brad got in a car and he goes "I'll be back at 2" So we went around this trailer park for an hour and NOBODY wanted to talk to us. All the people we already know weren't home, none of the doors we knocked were interested, and even just people outside that we talked to weren't having it. But eventually it was 2 and we had a good lesson with Brad! He gave Josey some roses. It was kinda funny. Later that day we were parked in a cul de sac about to go knock some doors. Before we got out of the car this school bus comes down the street and flips around super fast and honked at us and almost ran into us. We were like what is his deal?

On Thursday we had a call with our DL and his comp and we roleplayed a lesson that we wanted to have with Violet, Jamie's daughter because we've never taught kids before and we didn't know how to do it. They taught us this analogy that they came up with to teach kids the restoration. So we role played it back to them and it was one of the roughest role plays of my mission. BUT the next day we did that lesson with violet and it went well! It was just a call over messenger and she was playing with the little face effects the whole time haha, but I think she got it.

On Saturday we had our fall festival! Sister Moralez and I dressed up as Alabama and Auburn. I was Alabama, she was auburn. Everyone was like I don't know about you Sister Moralez. I'm such a mean trainer I made her dress up as the team nobody roots for around here. While we were there our branch president came up to us and was like "Y'all didn't know that I was the psycho driving the school bus the other day did y'all?" No sir I did not. I was shook. The fall festival was a lot of fun! Jamie came with her kids, Gabriel was a little police officer and Jamie was an inmate, haha. There were games, and chili and a trunk or treat! Lot's of fun.

Yesterday after church we had a little lunch party with the Olenslagers again! We ate with them, another family and two single ladies in the branch. We had a lot of fun, and Sister Olenslager is a wonderful cook! (they live far away and she says it's easier to bring us food to the church and I'm not complaining). Afterwards we visited a lot of people and ended up dropping a lot of people too, which is actually really good. Sometimes we just gotta get rid of people who aren't actually interested lol.

It's been a crazy week and I can't believe that it's only been a little over a week since I met Sis Moralez, but we are just doing our best.

Spiritual thought:
Yesterday in church one of the talks was about receiving personal revelation and how important it is to know how to receive revelation for ourselves especially in these latter days. I know that our Heavenly Father wants to give us answers to our questions and when we seek revelation He will give it to us! It's a scary world so go ask God what you can do to make it easier!

Love y'all
