Hey there, it's me.
It's been a crazy week for sure. We had our last district council on Tuesday with this district, kinda sad. Afterwards we went to visit Mona who is our Southern grandma and we just love her. While we were talking, there was a lull in the conversation and Mona goes "Sister Hansen you have a chin like my dad, we used to call it a sugar bow chin" And I don't really know what that means, but I like it.
On Wednesdays the ward does family history night at the church building, we invited KJ to come and get his account set up. He was able to come and he was so excited to start finding information about his parents and grandparents, we are hoping he will be able to attend the temple soon! After family history night sis hyde and I ran and got tacos from a nearby taqueria and then came back to the church to watch the transfer call where they tell us who is going where. I am literally so sad to report that Sister Hyde got transferred to Locust Fork Alabama. She's staying in a little town called Oneonta. We were both hoping that we would get to have one more transfer together :( But this must be God's plan for us so it's time to move on and have new companions. I am staying in Decatur and my new companion is Sister Knight! She is from Boise, Idaho and even took some classes at my high school.
Thursday was the last day of sis Hyde and Hansen so we cleaned and packed up and did all we could to prepare for transfers.
Friday morning we headed out and despite leaving with 30 minutes of extra time we were 20 minutes late to transfer meeting. We got stuck in traffic on the way there and were literally at a standstill for like 45 minutes. It was my first transfer meeting since I first got here. At these meetings they announce who the new greenies are and who they will be trained by and I was just so glad to not be in their place anymore haha. After that we all switched around and got with our new companionships. It is so weird to be back in the Decatur apartment without sister hyde :'( But the next day we had a meal with a member and they bought us crumbl cookies so that was happy!
On Sunday we had a nice thunderstorm, the rain was coming down in FAT drops and let me tell you, I have never in my life heard thunder that loud. It was so cool! That night we had dinner with this family in our ward and I have never had a meal that felt so much like I was at home. This family was so funny, they were all teasing each other and laughing at each other. There weren't enough seats at the table for everyone so the two oldest sons were sitting in the living room behind us and they were just making sarcastic comments about everything the whole time, so funny!
In other news, my shoe broke today, first pair of mission shoes that I've busted so I'd say that's a milestone... or just cheap shoes.
Spiritual thought: I am so grateful for the blessings of the temple. As a missionary I don't get the opportunity to attend the temple very often and I miss it! The temple brings such peace to our lives and we are so blessed to have the opportunity to be in the house of the Lord. If you haven't recently, go visit the temple for me, even if just walking the grounds!
ps. the first presidency dropped a new preach my gospel this week! It is so cool, modern day revelation is so awesome
I hope you all have the best week, I'm praying for you and I love and miss you
❤Sister Hansen
P.S. These pics weren't all taken on the same day and yet I'm wearing the same dress... oops
