Hello everyone,
This has been a pretty amazing week! It started off with an exchange with our STL and her comp- who just so happens to be Sister Knight and Sister Perry! Sister Gerrratt and Sister Perry went to Hazel Green and Sister Knight came to Scottsboro with me! It was honestly so fun to go on an exchange with my former companion, it's not an experience that happens very often. It was so crazy because it felt like we were back in Decatur doing the work. We had a lot of fun and talked all about how the work is going in Scottsboro and what we can do to make it better. The next morning we met up to switch back and Sister Gerratt and I were reunited. We visited some people in the boonies of our area and knocked on a door with some scary dogs and didn't get killed! (The dogs were being held back by a thin little cord so we were safe)
(After district council and the exchange some missionaries were feeling sick, so Sister G and i had a little Emergen-c party)
On Thursday we talked with three different ladies named Tammy, it must have been tammy day. It was also so hot that day, We were standing talking to a man named Richard, we introduced the Book of Mormon and he seemed not very interested, but open to learning more and we offered the book to him like three times and he still said no. Anyway, we were standing on his porch, the sun was going down, we were kinda shaded and I was sweating like a sinner in church. I'm telling this guy about the book of mormon as sweat is dripping down my nose. (Probably more information than you wanted, but it's true) This whole week has just been really hot, but it's supposed to be cooler next week and I really hope so. Also we were out with some members and they showed us this cool lookout on the Tennessee river, it's beautiful.
On Friday we got to go to lunch with a couple older ladies in the branch and they took us to this cute little sandwich shop called Paynes, and we got ice cream! I love ice cream :)
The other day we got a ride out to go visit Jamie (she lives super far away) because a lot has been going on with her this week haha. We invited her to be baptized last week and ever since then it has been up and down with her. She texted us and was like "I think Joseph Smith is the biggest deceiver ever" then we talked and sent her a conference talk and she said she was feeling better, then she stayed up all night studying D&C, the pearl of great price, the bom and the bible and she was like I think this is all lies. So we met with her and I think she is feeling a lot better about everything, but we aren't going to push baptism with her, we're letting her go at her own pace. We're still meeting with her which is good because she was ready to break up with us over text and we were not having that.
That night Sister Gerratt and I went to a yummy restaurant called Toros because we had a gift card, teehee.
Yesterday Dave came to church! And he stayed for both hours! It's always good to have our friends at church ❤️
Spiritual thought:
Yesterday in church, the brother who spoke was summarizing Finding Nemo and he was talking about how sometimes you feel like you don't know what to do or where to go, but you gotta just keep swimming! And I like that! Sometimes the people we're teaching don't keep their committments, sometimes life feels monotonous, sometimes things happen! But you just keep swimming and trust that it will all work out, and remember to trust in the Lord!
