Hello hello,
This week we met a lady named Zion who was like you ladies be careful out here, years ago I was attacked by a man under a bridge and I got body slammed into a tree root and she showed us her scar. Pretty crazy, but we gave her a Book of Mormon. Actually her name is really Rebecca but she said she changed her name to Zion when she turned her life over to the Lord.
Sister G was kinda sick this week so sometimes it was hard to get out and do things, also the community here is more older people and we worried about getting them sick. But we still did the work ๐ชand I avoided getting sick. ๐
We had a guy send in a referral who is actually a less-active member! So we're gonna go visit him this week.
A lady in our branch fed us this week and when we got to her house she gave us the grand tour of her place and then sat down in a chair and told us her whole life story for an hour.... we were like does she remember that she's feeding us? Then she was like okay here's lunch and then we ate and talked for even more time. She kept saying oh I'm just being a chatterbox tell me about yourselves and then we said 2 or 3 things and she went back into the life story.
On Friday we met 2 really cool people at Walmart! We shared a scripture with one guy named Zach and he was like yeah I don't read from the Book of Mormon very much. And we were like oh you've heard of it and he said he has one!!!! So we got his phone number. We also met girlie named Alyson and we just started talking about missionary work and what we do as missionaries. She was like okay, so I'm coming to church so we gave her the address!
Saturday night we called Jamie and asked her if she was planning on coming to church, she said maybe and it sounded like she wasn't gonna be there. Then Sunday morning she called us and asked if church started at 9 or 9:30. We got there and she was there!!! Then Alyson came and she brought a friend! We had so many people at church it was awesome!
Another miracle on Sunday was that my friend from Decatur, Don, got baptized!!!!!! If you remember he was on date when I was there and then we ended up giving him some time to study on his own and then he was taught some more by the sisters there now and he got baptized! I got to join a call to see him on his baptism day it was so special!
Spiritual thought:
This week I've been thinking a lot about miracles. There are so many miracles in our lives every day. Sometimes we notice them and sometimes we don't, but I know that God is in the details of all of our lives. He knows each of us and He is working miracles every day! So slow down and take time to notice the miracles, then thank Him for them ❤️
Also fun fact: in two days I will have been a missionary for 6 months! I can't even believe that its possible that Im 1/3 of the way through my mission! I'm excited for the rest!
Love y'all- don't forget to say your prayers!
❤️Sister Hansen
