Good day all my lovely family and friends.
FYI- I'm sorry if I've been ignoring any emails you may have sent me, I love hearing from all of you, but I don't always have time (or remember) to respond. Keep sending me messages, I love them!
Anyway- last week on p-day we went to Top Golf in Huntsville and I learned that I don't really know how to swing a golf club, but I got better at is as we went on. That night we slept over with the sisters in Weatherly so we could be in Huntsville for district council the next day. In the morning Sister Goff schooled us in our workout. She was showing us how to work our triceps and back and stuff I don't really know, but I do know that I was sore the next day. We had district council and afterward one of our ZLs offered a scorpion pepper to whoever wanted it- he offered it to use in cooking, to put in eggs or something. However a missionary named Elder Wahlstrom, without any peer pressure, decided to take a giant bite out of said scorpion pepper. (I guess it's a really hot pepper) He immediately turned red, then he started coughing and eventually ended up writhing in pain at a restaurant because his tummy hurt from the pepper. It was kinda sad, but also really funny. Literally no one pressured him into doing it. The restaurant was a cute place called Cheeseburger Bobbies which was excellent, and they gave us half price food for being missionaries! I approve of Cheeseburger Bobbies.
This week was our transfer week, and usually the day before transfers President Chibota will give us a call if we are getting a leadership calling. Tuesday night we got a call from Prez. He goes "Hello sisters! Just making sure you are home... Because we will be knocking on your door in just a few minutes!'' We started freaking out because we couldn't tell if he was joking or not.... then he goes "Haha... just kidding" Lol Prezzie Chibota has jokes. Then he called Sister Gerratt to be an STL.
Anyway on Wednesday we got to go out to visit Jamie (she lives like 35 minutes away from us) and one of our members took us out there. They both bonded quick, and Sister Olenslager inspired Jamie to start a journal about her experiences with meeting with missionaries! She has now started making a little journal of her timeline of coming closer to christ, it's amazing. That same night we had our transfer call where we found out transfer news. Sister Gerratt and I are both staying in Scottsboro! Lets get it!
Thursday night the Woods took us to a Mexican restaurant and they were doing trivia that night, we did pretty good, but we didn't end up winning. :( It was still a lot of fun though. The next day we went out to visit people with a couple in our branch, The Mayfields. They are amazing, we had a lot of fun with them.
This week I got to the point where I couldn't stand how scraggly my hair was getting at the ends. So I asked sister wood if there was anyone in the branch who could cut my hair, turns out she went to cosmetology school! So Saturday night after we had dinner with them, she cut my hair! I think she took off a whole inch and a half so if I look like a completely different person don't be surprised. But my hair is so crisp and it feels so good. <3
Also on Saturday a young boy in the branch got baptized! Yay! I love it when people take steps that help them come closer to Jesus Christ.
On Sunday Jamie came to church and we are so proud of her! She is working towards being baptized on Oct. 7th! Also one of the speakers in church compared the way the church is organized and run to the way that Chick-fil-a is. So in conclusion, the Lord's church is run the way the Lord's chicken is. (at Chic fil a you take a bunch of unqualified teenagers and give them the right ingredients and they make great chicken. In the church you take a bunch of unqualified and imperfect people and give them the right ingredients and knowledge and they can make the Lord's church run) also Chic fil a opened in Scottsboro!
Spiritual thought:
Y'all General Conference is coming up!!!!!!!! It's going to be so soooon! It is never too early to start preparing for it, so keep listening to the addresses that have been given and start thinking of a question to have in mind for conference! I love general conference and I'm so excited to hear what our prophets and apostles have to say to us this time around. Also, don't hesitate to share conference with your friends! Everyone can benefit from hearing from the prophet and apostles.
I hope you all have a great week
love ya!
❤Sister Hansen
